September 23, 2009 - The General Meeting was held at the Manhattan Central Park with the membership
supplying appetizers and desserts. President Cromwell welcomed back the members after the Summer break. Two of the three guests
for the evening joined Club. Committee chairmen reported on their Summer committee meetings and plans for the upcoming months.

October 28, 2009 - The General Meeting (Reciprocity) was held at Charleston's hosted by the Conservation
Committee. Guests included President of Mokena Woman's Club, President of the Woman's Club of Joliet, District 11 President
and GFWC-IL State President. Three additional guests for the evening decided to join Club this evening. Club members enjoyed
dinner choices that included pasta, chicken wrap and Italian beef sandwich. Allison Hedden from Midewin Tallgrass Prairie
was the guest speaker for the group. She presented an interesting powerpoint about Midewin along with many facts about the
prairie including the fact that volunteers have logged over 8200 hours in 2008 assisting the staff, the park includes over
19,000 acres and five pioneer cemeteries are located on the property. Each chairman reported the highlights of their committee
work. The next meeting will be our Christmas Celebration on December 2 at Charlestons. Please continue to read your newsletters
